What are RSS feeds and podcasts?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication, or RDF Site Summary, or Rich Site Summary) is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts. An RSS document (which is called a "feed" or "web feed" or "channel") contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with web sites in an automated manner that can be piped into special programs or filtered displays.

How do I access the feeds?

You will need special software to access RSS feeds and to set up automatic downloads of podcasts. RSS news readers allow you to view the service you select in one place and, by automatically retrieving updates, stay current with new content soon after it is published. There are many readers available and most are free. Some popular readers for articles include: Great News, Feed Demon, and NewzCrawler. After setting up your news reader, you will be ready to use the Sinopec's RSS feeds. To subscribe to one or more feeds below, right-click on one of the channels and select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location" to copy the location (URL) of the service. Follow the instructions for your particular news reader, and then paste this location wherever it asks for the location of the service you wish to subscribe to.
